The English Veterans Awards ceremony for 2021 was held at the Village Hotel in Solihull on Wednesday 15 September 2021.

Bernard Stonestreet, Founder of the East Sussex Veterans Hub was successful in winning 2 awards – Volunteer of the Year and the Overall Winner – Champion English Veterans Awards. It is easy to see why Bernard won his awards as his volunteering has had a massive impact on the local Armed Forces community in East Sussex. Bernard has a long history of successfully supporting veterans, their families and carers to achieve a better quality of life in challenging circumstances. Congratulations Bernard!

Another Sussex success at the Awards was Veterans’ Growth who were awarded the bronze in the Health and Wellbeing category. Veterans’ Growth provides horticultural therapy to veterans suffering with mental health issues. Jason Stevens is the Chief Executive Officer of Veterans’ Growth and his team has made great progress in offering support and holistic therapies to the local veteran population. Congratulations to Veterans’ Growth!

All the Award winners are very deserving and we are sure that the judging panel had a difficult time in reaching their decisions.
